New Driver Game Information Ndw_0010

Thank you for choosing Hard Core Trucking to work with
We strive to perform the best we can to get the most freight hauled possible
Following is the basic information you'll need to know to play the game

There is also more complete Game Guides at the Company Forum covering every aspect of the game

New Driver Information

1. Read company bulletins
Make sure you read all company bulletins for load and dispatch info. Follow all instructions in the bulletins, we may get a new contract but don't want it started yet. So be sure to read bulletins and don't just go by what contracts we have.

2. Always run our contract loads
We bid on contracts according to the number of drivers we have. So each driver must haul their share of the contract or we will not finish the contract and get fined. We also lose money if a driver doesn't run the contracts we get with what we pay for fuel and repair assistance. The driver will make a lot more money running contracts which will make it easier to purchase a newer truck and upgrades a lot faster.

3. Cargo change
Temporary cargo cities change every Mon and Thu at 12:10pm CET/CEST.
This will give drivers another option of where to pick up loads for contracts that may be closer to the receiving city then the permanent supply city. You can see where the freight is available at the Cargo Statistics page.
The standard freight rates also change on these days which is also listed on the Cargo Statistics page.

4. Purchase new equipment
As soon as possible, buy upgrades and new trucks. This will give you the best fuel mileage and mph possible. Most Tier 1 trucks need new tires immediately (see article № 5, Tires)

5. Keep your trucks repaired
When ever you end up at one of our terminals make sure to repair your truck. We pay 75% of the cost. Having a repaired truck will keep your truck running faster and getting better fuel mileage. Repairing at a terminal does not cost you any EL. If you don't repair at terminals it will cost you 10 exhaustion levels for fueling while in route. Depending on the speed limit, that's approximately 60 miles that you'll lose cash and XP on.
• TIRES - Make sure to keep good tires on your truck. As they wear down, you'll truck will run slower. Don't let them get below 50% wear before replacing them. You can buy new tires at the Garage. Go to Advanced Menu, My Driver and at the top you'll see the Garage tab. Down on the right in about the middle you'll see the Tires section. Just click Replace. If needed you're allowed to go $3000 in debt in the game.

6. Fuel up at Company Terminals
Always fuel up at a company terminal if possible, it won't cost you any EL. Try and fuel where it's the cheapest. This will save you a lot of money. You can check fuel prices on the City Statistics page. We pay for 50% of your fueling costs. If you don't fuel at terminals it will cost you 10 exhaustion levels for fueling while in route. Depending on the speed limit, that's approximately 60 miles that you'll lose cash and XP on.

7. Keep tickets at a minimum
Try not to get to many tickets. They cost you a ton of money and it will take you longer to save up for that new rig! We bid our contracts so that our drivers can run the legal speed limit and make the contract deadline. When you get a ticket, not only do you get a fine but you'll also lose XP. The more severe the infraction, the more XP and cash you'll lose.
• WARNING - We have the option to add extra weight to our load in the game. Don't do it.. it will bankrupt you and cost you a lot of XP. You'll get a ticket almost every click.

8. Speed and hours of service (HOS)
You can run 5 miles over the speed limit and won't get a speeding ticket. If you run 10 over, you run about a 1 in 15 chance of getting a ticket.
You can run up to 100 EL. If you run until 110 EL you run a very slight chance of getting a ticket. 120 or more you're really pushing your luck.

9. Run efficient
Optimizing fuel, EL, truck condition and freight is the key to moving up fast in this game. Obtain upgrades that increase your fuel mileage. Keep your truck repaired and keep tires above 50%. Try not to sit at 0 EL any longer then necessary.

10. Stocks
Purchase stocks to make some extra cash.  You can make quite a bit of money off stocks. This will really help when you go to move up to your next tier truck!
• NOTE - There is a lot of stock in the Stock Bank that is from companies that are out of business. You will not make any money on their stock. Click on the company name and check that they have drivers that are still active before purchasing their stock.

11. CB Channel
Our company CB channel is 689. You can chat with all our drivers and keep up with the latest info on our channel. Do not talk about company business on any other channel.
To change to our channel, go to your menu on the left and under Advanced Menu select Settings. On the right under Other Settings you'll see CB Settings, click on Default and you're done..
• CAUTION - Do not click on the Reset Driver button at the bottom of that page. That will set your driver back to 0 with no company or truck just like when you first started the game.

12. Inactive Status
If you are going to be inactive for a couple of days or more, please let us know. This is so we know you won't be pulling any loads when we bid a contract.
If you're inactive for 10 days and don't let us know, you might be terminated. This is just to keep our active drivers list current.

13. Hints and Tips
• Routes between points A and B are as the crow flies.
Example; If you pick up a load in Miami bound for Panama, you will not go north, around the Gulf of Mexico then down through Mexico. You will go south in a straight line through Cuba, the Caribbean Sea straight to Panama.
• Cargo Change: Mon and Thu at 12:10pm CET/CEST
• Contract bidding end times: 00:30, 08:30, 16:30 CET/CEST
• Bank Interest of 1% is paid every Monday at 01:00 CET/CEST
• Fuel prices change once a day at 01:00 CET/CEST
• XP Required for HazMat loads; Chemicals/Helium - 20 xp | Explosives - 40 xp | Nuclear - 60 xp
• XP Required for Tiers; Tier 2 - 8.5XP | Tier 3 - 23XP | Tier 4 - 43XP | Tier 5 - 70XP
